Three Arkansas towns affiliating with Keep America Beautiful

Bryant, El Dorado and West Memphis all in pre-certification stage

LITTLE ROCK (April 22, 2013) – Bryant, El Dorado and West Memphis are undergoing the process to become certified local affiliates of Keep America Beautiful (KAmB) to join the organization’s expanding network of statewide and community-based affiliates.

“As part of the Keep America Beautiful network, these communities have pledged to act as a catalyst for positive community change, with the goal of improving the quality of life for every resident,” said Robert Phelps, director of Keep Arkansas Beautiful. “We welcome Keep Bryant Beautiful, Keep El Dorado Beautiful and Keep West Memphis Beautiful to our affiliate network, which is keeping both Arkansas and the U.S. clean and green, one community at a time.”

Keep Arkansas Beautiful is a state certified affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Phelps serves as KAmB’s leader for all affiliates in Arkansas.

These three communities will join Keep America Beautiful’s 1,200 community affiliates and participating organizations, including international programs in Canada, South Africa and the Bahamas. This year alone, thousands of men and women who serve as KAmB affiliate coordinators and board and committee members will mobilize an estimated 4 million citizen volunteers to address environmental concerns.
