Arkansas Recycling Coalition partners with Keep America Beautiful
LITTLE ROCK (May 14, 2013) – The Arkansas Recycling Coalition (ARC) has joined Keep America Beautiful, Inc as a State Recycling Organization (SRO).
“We welcome the Arkansas Recycling Coalition as an SRO Participating Partner,” said Robert Phelps, director of Keep Arkansas Beautiful. “With the goal of improving the quality of life for every Arkansan, we encourage partnerships that can strengthen the results we see from community to community.”
The relationship will more closely link ARC to the Keep Arkansas Beautiful Commission and to the 13 Keep America Beautiful local affiliates across the state. Keep Arkansas Beautiful is a certified state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. Phelps serves as the organization’s state leader in Arkansas.
ARC joins Keep America Beautiful’s 45 SRO partners and 1,200 community affiliates and participating organizations, including international programs in Canada, South Africa and the Bahamas. This year alone, thousands of Keep America Beautiful affiliate coordinators and board and committee members will mobilize an estimated 4 million citizen volunteers to address environmental concerns to make their communities more attractive, livable and vibrant.
