Great American Cleanup in Arkansas Youth Poster Contest

4 in Northwest Arkansas named winners in youth poster contest

Four youth from Northwest Arkansas have been announced as winners in the Great American Cleanup in Arkansas Youth Poster Contest.

They are:

  • Emma Hutchens is the first-place winner in the Grades K-2 category. She is a second-grader at the Academy of Excellence in Eureka Springs.
  • Mackenzie Loudermilk, a third-grader at the Academy of Excellence in Eureka Springs, is the third-place winner in the Grades 3-5 category.
  • Peter Welcher is the second-place winner in the Grades 3-5 category. He is a fifth-grader at St. Joseph Catholic School in Fayetteville.
  • Emma Wise is the third-place winner in the Grades K-2 category. She is a second-grader at Butterfield Trail Elementary School in Fayetteville.

The announcements were made last week at these students’ respective schools. Their original artwork can be enjoyed on KAB’s Facebook page.

Keep Arkansas Beautiful sponsors the Great American Cleanup in Arkansas Youth Poster Contest to involve students, to increase awareness of the annual spring cleanup, and to educate the public about the importance of a clean and beautiful community for improving environmental quality of life.

Each first-place winner receives a Walmart gift card valued at $50; each second-place winner, a $35 Walmart gift card; and each third-place winner, a $20 Walmart gift card. Keep Arkansas Beautiful representatives present each winner with a gift card and a certificate of achievement at a local announcement.
