Times: 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Arkansas State University – Environmental Health & Safety will host their A-State Creek Cleanup on Saturday, October 12, 2019 from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Besides being an eyesore, litter can cause pollution far from where it is thrown on the ground by being taken up by stormwater. The Environmental Health & Safety Department and the A-State Stormwater Advisory Committee is hosting a Keep Arkansas Beautiful campus creek cleanup in conjunction with the Great Arkansas Cleanup campaign.
Polluted storm water is one of the biggest risks to the environment. Pollution of this water can affect the ecosystem as well as our drinking water. Keeping litter out of this water is the easiest and the best way for the community to be directly involved in the preservation of the ecosystem and in the cleanliness of our drinking water.
This event is open to the public. Volunteers will meet in the HPESS east parking lot and then go out to the cleanup sites.
